12 November 2000

After performing several of the Mompou Canciones y Danzas, I have gained quite a bit of confidence and certainty in their potential as viable concert repertoire. I see myself programming them for years to come because they are so unique and unlike anything else that gets programmed by classical guitarists.

The recording sessions will take place in April and July, and the album should be released in the autumn on 2001.

At present, my day is as follows:

6 hours a day of practice - 2 in the morning, 2 in the afternoon and 2 at night. I usually take Sunday off, unless something is coming up, or i am booked to perform.
This day also includes a few hours of teaching, my workout at the gym, about 30 minutes of French, and "abstract" work with the scores.

I need to take more time reading the wonderful information I obtained in Rochester. And I have planned a trip to Spain in which I will be able to visit Barcelona, Santiago and Madrid.

Sometimes I wish I had more time to spend with friends, but my work is very fulfilling, and I can't tell you how much I love to begin each day.

thanks for tuning in, Peter
