30 September

I was very pleased with my recital last night at Clairmont Crest. The program included four movements from the Suite Compostelana as well as Cancion y Danza no. 4, 10, 7 and 6.

It’s nice to be able to test the waters with these new transcriptions – they fit the guitar very well and are, in my opinion, extraordinarily effective with audiences. No. 7 needs the most work at this point. My next recital is October 29th and will be an all Mompou program – Suite Compostelana in it’s entirety and Cancion y Danzas No. 4, 8, 10, 7, 6 and 5.

The audience last night was exquisite – there were times when we had total silence, and I felt a lot of energy throughout – very rare.

My playing could have been a lot more accurate and cleaner, but I’m finding out what needs the most work. What’s most important is that I felt moments of true ecstasy and a real connection with the audience.

Looking forward to my next opportunity.

Planning a day off tomorrow at Callaway Gardens. On Monday, it’s back in the saddle again.

All the very best to you all,

Peter
